1997 - Present, Project Manager - Cross Application Technology Solutions Group, Yale University, New Haven, CT.

Current Responsiblities include, but not limited to:

  • Over-seeing a highly techincal team of 3 Developers
  • IDC - Indirect Cost Project
  • RIF - Receipts Indentification Form, a custom application for the Yale Treasurer's Office to record the the receipt of cash gifts and all other deposits, and interfaces with the JSA and Oracle GL applications.
  • SBT - a FoxPro based off-the-shelf Account Receivables system used by the Grants and Contracts Financial Administration Office.
  • PAM - Portfolio Accounting Management system, by Princeton Financials, used by Yale's Invesment Office to manage Yale's 8 billion dollar portfolio.
  • And several VMS mainframe, and PC based applications.

My past Responsibilities included:

  • Supervision of New Technologies Team, within AD Tech Team.
  • Interfacing with Development, AYA, and Tech Systems employees.
  • Software maintenance and enhancement of Benefactor, a Unidata application
  • Custom report writing; Web page development; Development of Oracle data warehouse.

Special Projects included:

  • Conversion of Benefactor from VMS platform to AIX
  • Wrote the interface from the Benefactor system to Project X, Oracle Financials GL system
  • Wrote a report tracking system which monitors all Benefactor reports usage
  • Developed Benefactor (Unidata) to Oracle Data warehouse file design/download/interface.
  • Wrote a Solicitation Tracking module for tracking the response and cost accounting of all solicitations to alumni.

I am the owner & webmaster of www.asnuntuck.org, and I am currently working with Faculty and Staff in designing a "Web Developer Certifcate" click here program for the College, which we hope will open the doors for the school to offer an Associates Degree in Web Development.

 

1996 - 1997, Independent Contract Programming, Nemeth/Martin Consulting, Inc. Bethel, CT.

Unidata programming, debugging, conversions, report writing, and special system module development. Clients included: Andrews Office Products, Lanhem MD., Yale University, New Haven CT.

1994-1996, Systems Development Manager, Engineering Services, South Windsor, CT.

  • Oversaw and responsible for all computer, telecommunication, and networking staff, budget, and services for this growing direct-mail company.
  • Led the development, design, creation and implementation of a catalog based order entry system.
  • System is written in Advanced Pick on SCO/Unix, using Symbion a 4GL tool.
  • Components included: Inventory (Multi-warehouse), Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Order Entry, Direct-Marketing, and Telemarketing modules.
  • Special features included: multi-level pricing, on-line credit card authorizations, call tracking, call scheduling, list management, faxing, word processing, list analysis, data conversions, pricing interface to catalog design.
  • This 150+ user system handles over 6 million prospect records, over 250,000 customer records, and over 2,000 orders a day.
  • The focus of this project was to design a system which would give the most information to the right people in the shortest amount of time, and to give the customer the highest quality service and same day shipping.

1993-1994, President, Myriad Solutions, Mansfield, MA.

Independent computer consulting providing customized software design, development, installation, training, and support for various direct-mail companies. Developed Customer Lifetime Value and RFV (Regency, Frequency, and Monetary Volume) models. These programs and data models allow clients to examine their database to more accurately target market their customers, resulting in greater profitability. Partial client list includes such companies as R. J. Reynolds, Brandies University, Peter Lowe International, Nelson Marketing, and Celebrating Excellence.

1988-1992, Data Processing Manager, Nelson Marketing, Inc., Oshkosh, WI.

  • Oversaw all computer, data entry, and telecommunications operations, budget, and staff.
  • Led the company in the conception, development, installation, training, and maintenance of a PICK based multi-user Catalog Marketing System (ACT I by Rigden).
  • Responsibilities included: programming, training of employees, management of departmental employees, network & system design, hardware purchasing, set-up and training, software review, installation and support, mailing list management and bulk-mailing, and source code tracking/reporting of all marketing efforts.
  • Developed computer-based statistical models for sales projection, cash flow, cost analysis, life-time-value-of-a-customer, cell-segmentation, product-affinity, mail list response, and marketing strategies.
